NHS 111 is a free phone service which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
It offers you a one-stop number if you have urgent, but not life-threatening, symptoms and want a fast and easy way to get help when you need it.
You should call 111 if:
- it’s not a 999 emergency
- you think you need to go to A&E or another NHS urgent care service
- you don’t think it can wait for an appointment with your GP
- you don’t know who to call for medical help.
For less urgent health needs you should still contact your GP in the usual way. For immediate, life-threatening emergencies, continue to call 999.
NHS 111 can help if you have an urgent medical problem and you’re not sure what to do.

If you have difficulties communicating or hearing, you can:
- call 18001 111 on a textphone
- use the NHS 111 British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter service if you’re deaf and want to use the phone service
ENHANCED ACCESS/ EVENING & WEEKEND APPOINTMENTS
We are now offering more evening and weekend appointments. These are provided in local ‘hubs'(situated in the Derby Medical Centre in the Ebbisham Centre in Epsom, Leatherhead Hospital, Tadworth Medical Centre, Nork Clinic & Bourne Hall). They are manned by local GPs who have full access to your medical records.
All sessions in these ‘hubs’ run from 6:30pm to 9:00pm Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 8.00pm Saturday and 9.00am to 1.00pm on Sunday.
These are all pre-bookable, standard 10 minute GP appointments which can be offered by any of the surgeries during opening hours.
On the day appointments are also available at these ‘hubs’. In the first instance, please book through your GP receptionist. There is a dedicated telephone number for patients to use when our surgeries are closed but these will only be manned when there are appointments available to book. The number to call after 6.00pm and at the weekend is
Phones open from 8.00am on Saturday morning and 9.00am on a Sunday.
