The community midwives visit new mothers and babies at home in the days after delivery to help with both the mothers and babies health.

From around day eleven, the health visitors will begin to visit. They are there to help until your child is of school age. There are drop in clinics regularly over the week for you to meet with them for advice on any aspect of child health, and they are also contactable on a telephone help line.

On Tuesday afternoon we run our baby clinic at The Wishing Well, an annex of Fitznells Manor Surgery. Parents are sent an appointment for this soon after birth. At your first visit, when the baby is 8 weeks old, you will see the doctor who will examine the baby and you will be able to discuss any of your concerns. Then you meet the nurse for your Childs first immunizations.

We also have a health care assistant at the clinic to weigh the babies.

There are then 2 further appointments at 12 and 16 weeks for the baby's final immunisations. The table below sets out the new schedule of childhood immunisation.
